OVERVIEW

This is a programme handbook, introducing the world of Zadonnia, full of Christ – the Holy Story Divine, bringing forth the Easter splendour of everlasting love in the Divine Most High.

It is to help groups, societies, schools, colleges and centres of higher learning to bring alive the joy of sacred storytelling, “in the land of radiant, sweet stories, for various audiences, including pupils and students alike, with vibrancy and depth of grace – the Zadonnian style.

It can form part of the basic illustrative materials, showing the regular teaching scheme to be used for a term or session; and as, a carefully structured study programme, for example, it can server as both intensive and extended course in itself, with additional support materials being included, as required.

Sacred storytelling, clearly, goes beyond being just a very beautiful art form to be cultivated. It expresses, in mystical terms, our embodied way of life and aspirations and desires, as children of God; and as, what is revealed to us, as the richness of our holy religion, and combining, still, sweet singing and joyous dancing… our coming into the refreshingly powerful story world of possibilities and opportunities for true celebration of the Sacrificed Love of God.

It is, thus, regardless of its simplicity of purpose, a creative source of learning and joyous worship; and as, it leads us to the truth of God in our lives. And, also, in our world today, it will help us to re-enforce our joys of faith, through wisdom and love, in deepening our understanding and appreciation of the world around us.

This programme handbook, therefore, will help groups, societies, schools, colleges and other institutions to bring audiences to feel the impact of our different kind of storytelling, both conceptually and in the practice of our faith.

The sacred storyteller’s prime role, is to achieve the deepest meaning of joy, in spiritual terms, for his listeners. As it reflects, without doubt, what takes place, mystically, in their hearts and in their souls – which, they themselves experience, according to their own faith and disposition to cooperate with divine inspiration.

The language spoken, is the universal language of love. For it breaks all barriers and inspires a new way of life; a new way of thinking and doing things in God…with the new vision of hope, and our new identity in Christ, who is the light of the world.

Of course, now, all the changes envisaged in our lives, as the outcome of the sacred storytelling process, cannot take place in one day, or one night, as some would like to expect. It is better seen, with the eyes of faith, as what gradually takes place in our hearts and souls, and, then, begins to transform our whole beings. This, again, uplifts us, in spirit and in truth, as we receive the new life in God, through the life-giving message of true love and, then, it very well continues and grows, as we put the message into action.

In presenting The Joy Divine to all who are interested in celebrating the Sacrificed Love of God in our midst, thus, the challenge is to attempt to make it more meaningful to them in creatively simply ways and, then, to allow the message of love that we share in God, to flow through, gradually, with the joy of listening to the “radiant, sweet stories”, embellished with singing and dancing.

The real advantage of this age-old approach, is embedded in the logic of storytelling itself; and continues to be a lively way of pursuing cultural and spiritual education in society.
