The Progress Report: Counting the Gaint-Strides and the little steps

1. The idea of the compassionate organization, firmly rooted  in the celebration of the Sacrificed Love of God, was conceived in 1995
2. Next, then, was the effort to set up the basic framework, and to pursue implementation, through systematic capacity building.
3. Between 1996-1997, we had endeavoured , seriously, to begin sourcing for funding and, also, looking for partners to work with, in order to be able to reach out more meaningfully to the poor and the needy .
4. From the year 1998 to 1999, we had continued our vigorous work of structured implementation efforts. Thus, with some money realized, we had persisted to prepare some books about our holy religious celebration of the Sacrificed Love of God, for publication.  One of these books, the major literary celebration of our sweet life of devotion to Jesus of the Easter splendour, in union with the Blessed Virgin Mary, Queen and Mother, is formally titled The Story Divine (“The Book of Everlasting Love,” according to the storyteller king). At the time, that particular book, from the perspective of its various dimensions, reaching over 40 volumes since 1980, when its writing had begun.
5. In the year 2000, and through 2001, we had managed to raises additional funding with which to continue our work on the wonderful celebration books (covering editing and typing of more volumes).
6. In 2002, next, suddenly we had suffered a major setback. And this was when, all the books, which we had been preparing for publication, were virtually destroyed by blazing fire, that had gutted the whole house, where they had been kept. It was, a real catastrophe:  The greatest challenge to our work, that we had ever witnessed; and as, something inspired by the devil, to stop our work, completely.  But as a pure miracle of God, we came out of it. Even much stronger than before, and with far much better focus, on what our mission is: to serve God, whole-heartedly, in serving our neighbours and to persist, without ceasing, to glorify His holy Name.
7. In 2002, now, we had pursued the formal registration of the organization, Children of Love, in Nigeria.
8. In 2003, finally, after much delays, and twists, and confusion, as we had continued to battled our way through, we had completed the registration of the organization, through the grace of God.
9. Through the years 2003 and 2004, under a bold initiative, we had further developed our working plan. The purpose, was to reach out to more individuals and families in need of help, both spiritually and otherwise, throughout the world. This was to be implemented, on the two planks of our devotion and motto, stated as, “In union with Mother Mary, in the service of Christ teaching all hearts” and “Christ is Compassion, Christ is Love, Christ is Peace”.
10. In 2005, still we were able to expand our evangelization activities, with follow ups. And, again, we had intensified our work on the various books, being prepared for publication.
11. In 2006, next, we had drawn up more programmes of action. With some reasonable funding realized, also, we had acquired a large expanse of land and had begun building a school and hospital complex in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital. However, unfortunately, a violent wind, first had come and had destroyed the main school block, that was under construction. And not long ago, afterwards, again, the government, through a widespread demolition exercise and land-reacquisition campaign, had force us to stop further construction work and, subsequently, to vacate the entire land.
12. Through 2006, we had initiated, also, work on the design of our two websites, which were , finally, launched and become operation in 2007
13. In late 2006, we had begun to work on the 2007 Good Leaders International Conference, otherwise, called “The World Leadership Challenge Series”, that took place on March 27, 2007, at Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja, Nigeria.
